Peace Country hay becomes a precious commodity
Rick Davison reports a provincial hay shortage in the southern region has trucks moving Peace Country hay through Chetwynd toward Quesnel and Williams Lake. Agronomist Jim Tingle notes lower yields, with hay also moving from Vanderhoof, and predicts winter shortages despite a slight second cut. Sherry Webster of a Quesnel area farm says buyers are snatching hay now, with winter concerns rising.

About 35 participants braved wind rain and cold for the 15th annual Terry Fox Run, raising an estimated 730 for cancer research. Donations will be tallied end of the week as pledges are collected, with organizers thanking volunteers, local students, businesses, and public safety crews.
