The province will cut personal income taxes with 100000 low income residents no longer paying provincial tax. By 2001 lower and middle income taxpayers see over eight percent cuts, overall annual savings of about 750 million compared with 1995. Bracket creep will be prevented by indexing the tax system. Nine provinces plan similar income tax systems by 2001.
