BC land protection bill creates parks and reserves
Legislation introduced in Victoria on May 31 outlines 29 Class A parks and six ecological reserves plus additions to 13 existing Class A parks totaling over 264 000 hectares. It transfers 169 Class A parks and 136 ecological reserves to schedules, consolidating lands into a single act for long term protection. Parks in the Peace region include Pine LeMoray Butler Ridge Bocock Peak Hole in the Wall Pine River Breaks and Gwillam Lake with diverse habitats and wildlife.
