Lake stocking plan uses helicopters for remote sites
BC Fisheries will stock over 12 Peace region lakes this summer totaling 67,000 fish. Helicopters will be used where access is limited, with Rainbow Trout allocations including Boulder Lake 1,500 and Sundance Lake 2,500 in the Chetwynd area, plus Chinaman Lake 2,500 Rainbow and Moose Lake 5,000 Rainbow near Gwiliam Lake rec area. Boot Lake will receive 5,000 Eastern Brook Char and 3,500 Rainbow, while Dinosaur Lake near Hudson's Hope gets 5,000 Rainbow plus 10,000 fingerlings.

South Peace Health Council Sets Priorities for Northeast Facilities
At the June 8 Dawson Creek meeting council members Tim Caton Eleanor Wilfur and Lynda Lafleur from Chetwynd attended. A January convention on women's health is planned. The draft medical staff relocation reimbursement by-law was passed. Rotary Manor construction timing and tendering were discussed. June 15 is the deadline to submit Treasury Board Minor Capital Plan project proposals to the Ministry of Health. CEO Rick Robinson noted the northeast has 2 million dollars to allocate and stressed prioritizing facilities within the South Peace Health Council.

Twenty Leading Citizens of Chetwynd Named at Luncheon
Omega Training Program selected twenty residents for the Twenty Leading Citizens of Chetwynd based on community contributions not popularity. At a June 6 luncheon, each honoree was introduced by a student or instructor, highlighting service in areas such as job creation, care for the needy, cancer support, music, volunteering, and community events.
