Recycling bin fire near library sparks safety warning
Chetwynd librarian Fay Aselson condemns a weekend arson that set a wooden recycling bin ablaze near the library building. Fire crews contained the 15 foot flames after a passerby doused them with snow. Chief Leo Sebulsky urges commercial owners to keep recycling bins five metres from buildings. Paquette of the Recycling Depot notes many bins sit safely away, while funding limits prevent bin upgrades.
