Residents may not be notified of future low fly bys as CHETWYND Helicopters eyes repeated flights. In 2010 Canadian Helicopters sought to fly as low as 500 feet over Chetwynd to survey an oil and gas pipeline, prompting council discussion.
Nine workers were taken to Chetwynd and District Hospital after a Ledcor crew bus left Willow Creek mine road and struck a tree near Wildmore Road. Diversified Transportation and ICBC are investigating with Worksafe BC, with no critical injuries reported and most workers expected to return to work soon.
