Mounted Cavalry Man Statue Dedication at Fort Riley
A cavalryman statue is to be dedicated at Fort Riley on June 14 as part of the Junction City Fort Riley centennial celebration. The project honors the post’s cavalry heritage, drawing on epoxy resin artistry by Fort Riley personnel and support from retired officers and family donations. The effort recalls Comanche’s legacy and aims to rival the famed equestrian statue, with the project generating community pride and funds for a crypt for Chief the horse.
