Storm Lake Pioneer James Toy recalls early days
James F. Toy, a prominent Storm Lake banker and early booster, recounts his first visit fifty nine years ago. He details from the Warwick McDune store crossing Lake Avenue to pivotal town growth, his Green & Toy lumber venture, deer shipments, and the move of the county seat to Storm Lake. He reflects on frontier life, venture profits, and the community’s formation.
