Wisconsin Governor Julius Heil Built as Immigrant to Millionaire Manufacturer
The Milwaukee Gazette profiles Julius Heil of Wisconsin, a former immigrant who rose from potato picker and shop helper to millionaire manufacturer and now in his second term as governor. The piece notes Heil’s flair for publicity, his cheese and beer promotions, his 170 plus honorary colonels, and his clashes with labor and critics. It also covers his management of Heil Manufacturing, defense orders, and a controversial prize fight bill.
