Court rules homosexuality cannot deny custody
Michigan Court of Appeals awards custody to a lesbian mother, ruling sexuality alone cannot justify denying a parent. A Washtenaw County judge had temporarily placed the children with the mother pending counseling and a new ruling on permanent custody. The court found no proof the mother’s lifestyle would affect the children or that sexual activity occurred in their presence. New York reports note exile commandos captured in a 1966 Havana raid with one prisoner refused entry.
