Farm Bureau Urges Less Government Interference
The American Farm Bureau Federation told Democratic platform writers that farmers want less government interference in individual management decisions. North Carolina Farm Bureau president John Sledge urged budget balance, estate tax reform, broader use valuations, and sunset clauses on new agencies to curb growth. He stressed international trade expansion and that price supports should aid orderly marketing, not fix prices.
