Man dies after apparent jump from Delhi dam into Lake Delhi
Delaware County authorities recovered a man’s body after he jumped from the east side of the Delhi dam into Lake Delhi near the Maquoketa River. The victim’s name was withheld pending family notification. An unidentified witness noted the man’s involvement in extreme sports. The Lake Delhi Recreational Association said the incident was intentional, not an accident. Rescue crews took about 2 1/2 hours to locate the body as water flowed vigorously after Friday storms.
