Jefferson Coach Niemeyer Notches 2000th Victory In Softball
Cedar Rapids Jefferson edged Mid-Prairie 2-0 at Hoover High School in the Jack North Tournament to give Larry Niemeyer his 2000th career win as a coach. Niemeyer, 72, stands at 2,001-411 in 50 seasons as Alex Jacobson drove in both runs. He says coaches do not win games, players do, and recalls his first victory.
