Debate Over Times Pentagon Papers Ban Continues
New York Times and government clash over a temporary ban on further publication of the Pentagon papers. The Times argues the issue is moot due to the Washington Post printing material from the same documents and sharing it with many outlets. The government urges extending the restraint as Defense documents still affect military plans and policy. Judge Gurfein weighs secrecy limits while hearing witnesses and secret-session requests.
