Eastern Iowa survey finds smaller rise in women seeking alcohol rehab
A Junior League survey across Eastern Iowa shows a 13 percent rise in women admissions to alcohol rehab over two to three years, far below the national 50 percent rise. Barriers include lack of child care and fear of custody loss, with Sedlacek Treatment Center and Area Substance Abuse Council offering tailored programs. Public information efforts and child care funding are urged to expand access to treatment.
