Cash buyers surge as investors snatch up homes below 300k
In a buyer favorable era, many first time buyers lose out to all cash investors. Nationally 22 percent of December home sales were all cash, up from 16 percent a year earlier, with Las Vegas and Phoenix seeing nearly half and a quarter of sales cash respectively. Real estate expert Jed Smith notes cash gives investors the edge even when prices drop.
