Iowa land values 1934 35 rise halted by 1936 drought
W G Murray summarizes an Ames based study by R C Bentley showing Iowa farm land averaged 79.75 per acre for July 1934 through July 1936, with prices rising early but falling to about 679.50 in 1936 after drought. The piece cautions tenants on whether to buy, noting risks of purchasing during high income and rising values.
