Mrs. Ella Strayer Metcalf, a former Madison school fifth grader, identifies classmates in an 1884 photo from the Union Printers home Colorado Springs. Funeral services will be held at St Patrick's church Monday at 9 a.m. for Charles R. Walderbach 83 who died at his farm home near Anamosa. The Rev Father Behan will officiate. Walderbach was born near Anamosa and spent his life in the area.

Andrew Polehna of Polehna Brothers plans a trip from New York to Havre France then to Siatnice Moravia Czechoslovakia to learn skinless wiener making. He aims to bring back techniques for their growing business and will return in January or February. He will carry a motion picture camera and keep Cedar Rapids Gazette in touch.
