Restaurateur hosts free anniversary meal for diners
Pete and Jo Andrews of Gem Coney Island Lunch Room offered a free meal to more than 900 customers marking the restaurant’s 65th anniversary founded in 1918 by Tony Rufogales. Andrews said guests earned it and the gesture honored Lincoln’s patrons, with no one taking advantage of the gift.
