Lawmaker complains over senate district plan changes
Rep Dale Tieden voiced unhappiness at a committee amendment that reshapes senatorial districts in the Second district and warned of House opposition if the Senate sends the proposal. The plan would shrink the House from 124 to 100 members and the Senate from 61 to 50, taking effect for the 1970 election, though a Woodbury County population deviation could trigger court trouble.

Legislative Notes by Frank Nye Remakes and old style rhetoric from Lange
Iowa legislators discuss an amendment to the reapportionment plan with Senator Elmer Lange quoting the old sheriff line about a fair trial before hanging. Rep. Andrew G. Dooley, famed sprinter, recalls Drake Relays days with teammates Nelson Owen and Briggs, noting a world mark in prelims and a close finish to Texas in recent races. Dooley, now 54, remains fit and a pharmacist.
