Cedar Rapids Mayor Frank Bosh voted no on a resolution to install street lights in an alley between Ninth and Thirteenth streets SW parallel to Sixteenth Avenue. The measure passed 3 to 1, with Bosh saying alley light requests are rarely approved and noting the proposal came as a surprise. He had just returned from vacation.

Waterworks report for March filed in Cedar Rapids

The Cedar Rapids water department pumped 459,730,000 gallons in March under superintendent George S. Lee, averaging 14,830,000 gallons daily. The plant used 602,460 kilowatt hours of electricity. well water hardness averaged 17.5 grains per gallon while treated water measured 5.7 grains per gallon.

City Plans paving bids opening May 14 1969

City officials set May 14 as the bid opening date for nine paving projects in 1969. The council passed a resolution overruling all complaints over assessments. The city will pay 212,870.66 of the estimated 429,553.35 with the rest raised by property assessments.
