Marion Iowa budget raises staff pay boosts infrastructure
Marion's fiscal 2025 budget raises staff wages and funds city projects amid tax reform. Expenditures total 177.6 million with about 150.3 million in revenue, plus a 14.803 levy rate generating roughly 2.1 million more. The plan funds two police positions, a fire admin upgrade, Central Plaza, and a 400,000 mobile library, with capital projects including Indian Creek Sewer, Alburnett Road extension, and street/sewer improvements totaling 63.7 million. Mayor Abou Assaly and council members hailed the budget as a step in the city's growth.
