Field Mass Set in St Bernard for Independence Day
The third annual Independence Day Field Mass sponsored by Hamilton County American Legion will be offered in Staye cemetery St Bernard on Wednesday July 4. An American Legion burial plot will be dedicated for veterans of the military and naval services. A parade to the cemetery forms at Park Place and ttus Street one square east of Vine Street at 9 a.m. Units march 30 minutes earlier than last year to join the Cumminsville parade for the St Joseph's orphanage festival.

Burger Family Adds 7 Service Stars to Flag

Chaplain Francis Dietz Awarded Bronze Star in World War II
Chaplain Francis T. Dietz a former St. Xavier's high school athletic director Cincinnati received a Bronze Star with an Oak Leaf cluster for heroic conduct in the Philippines from January 10 to February 7 1945. He aided dying soldiers and boosted morale under heavy fire while with the infantry battalion. Dietz taught at St. Xavier's from 1936 until 1942 and served as Mothers' club moderator.

Five Archdiocesan Service Members Now Dead
