Taft to Visit Pueblo State Fair Embracing Big Displays

President Taft and party will attend the Pueblo State Fair on Wednesday September 22 to view record fruit exhibits livestock and cattle shows. The fair aims to outdo prior years with Western hospitality and public entertainment including outdoor amusements and a parade by the Sun Worshipers at night. Railroads offer low rates and plans include the Golden Flyer and a Glenn Curtis flying machine under Willard for demonstrations.

Taft Begins 13000 Mile West South Tour

President Taft starts a nearly two month 13000 mile journey from Beverly Massachusetts on his private roving White House car. The itinerary covers Chicago Seattle San Francisco Los Angeles and New Orleans with stops in Denver Milwaukee Des Moines and many others including meetings with Diaz of Mexico and a Chicago bankers reception. The trip includes visits to Expositions, river stops on the Mississippi, and speeches amid broad regional coverage.

Automobile Road Opens to Mount Rainier National Park

United States Engineer Eugene Ricksecker opened a government road through Mount Stalner National Park permitting autos and horsemen a comfortable route from Udewater to Narada Falls near snow in Paradine valley. The grade tops four percent and about twenty autos, all loaded, completed the mountain trip.
