Detective Joe LeFors arrested William Trumpeter and his 10 year old son Roy for the July 12 shooting of Albert E. Gordon, a Casper area sheep herder. Gordon was shot from behind while watching a flock owned by Ross Lambert of Wheatland, whose camp wagon was burned in the incident. Lambert sought help from the state woolgrowers association, which aided the inquiry.

Special to The Press Douglas Wyoming September 30 The fifth annual state fair opened in Douglas amid ideal weather and crowds pouring in from far cities. Decorations light up the city and grounds nightly. Exhibits celebrate Wyoming resources with lush displays of vegetables grains fruits and minerals. Crowd pleasing events include cavalry drills roping contests and free exhibitions. A CY boy fell from a horse during roping but no serious accidents occurred. Up town bustle includes street fakers and small shows while Sanford Dodge's company entertains at the opera house. The big Temple hall dance draws nightly crowds and Friday marks Casper and Wheatland day promising immense turnout.
