Two more days of time trials set the scene at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 40th International Classic. TV qualified 83 drivers for starting positions behind the DeSoto pace car as final bids unfold with trials Saturday 10am to 3pm and Sunday noon to 6pm CDT. Gates open 8am Saturday and 9am Sunday, admission $1, with race day doors at 5am CDT. Prerace features include Purdue band, Elisa Sullivan singing, L I Woolson driving the pace car with Tony Hulman, Virginia Mayo kissing the winner, and the Borg-Warner Trophy presentation. Reserved seats available at the Speedway office. unreserved and general admission sold at the track.

Mr and Mrs W O Moore of Muncie and Mr and Mrs Virgil Tetrick were guests Sunday afternoon of Mr and Mrs C G Hill. The Moores had just returned from Miami Florida where they visited their son William and family. They called on Mr and Mrs Oren Miller and Max Nowotne while in Florida. Mrs Norrene Phelps of New Castle spent the weekend with Mrs Betty Jane Brooks and family in Mays.
