Rush County Historical Society met Sunday at the museum. Robert Waggener of Homer presented a monograph on the Liberalism of Dr. Benjamin Rush after whom Rush County and Rushville are named. Mrs. Jack Wedding sang two numbers with John Posey accompanying. The group set June 20 for the sale of Newby estate personal property. Kent sang Love Is Where You Find It and is IU sophomore and touring group queen.

Alumni Banquet Draws 220 For Fourth Annual Meeting
About two hundred twenty alumni and guests attended the Fourth Annual Alumni Association banquet and meeting at Carthage High School gym. Local and out of state attendees from Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Illinois joined in celebration with speeches music and recognitions marking fifty years since the class of 1906.
Sharon Hunt Injured In Tuesday Accident Near Carthage
Sharon Hunt living west of Carthage and employed at International Harvester in Indianapolis sustained a serious car crash early Tuesday when his vehicle left the road and struck an abutment near the old Westland School. He suffered a broken hip jaw and facial cuts. He was found by neighbors and rushed to Hancock Hospital, with condition improving by Wednesday afternoon.
