Indiana State Fairgrounds Undergoing Renovations
The Indiana Board of Agriculture funds major improvements at the grounds this year. Buildings at the grounds are being moved and painted while new structures rise around the track. The Dog track roof is being repaired and repainted to match existing buildings. Southeast corner dirt fills create ample parking near the midway. Dick Heller says the State Fair Premium List is being printed and prizes for livestock and racing will be larger. The fair runs from August 31 to September 6.

Poppy Day Volunteers Plan Effort Across States
Saturday Poppy Day with Mrs. Anna J. Sipe in charge as Auxiliary workers collect contributions for disabled veterans and orphans. Poppies from the Veterans National Hospital Marion Ind are worn and made by disabled World War veterans under Miss Clara Offutt supervision. About 10 000 000 poppies produced this year across fifty six hospitals in forty states earning $100 000 for veteran welfare.

Local merchants plan a series of band concerts
Twenty two business men met at McCarty's drug store to organize community band concerts. The first is set for Saturday night June 1 on a lawn south of the hotel, then on the public square. Committees were named to prepare trucks and chairs and to contract with the Arlington band.

Sow Bears Twenty One Pigs On Indiana Farm
A sow on Dr. A C Ambrose's farm near Connersville Indiana farrowed twenty one pigs, surpassing prior AAA records. Nineteen piglets were alive, with seven being bottle fed due to the sow's limited dining compartments. Dr. Ambrose, who resides in Cumberland, Indiana, reported the event.
