A large audience attended Carthage High School's 1935 graduation at the Auditorium Theatre. Nineteen graduates in gray gowns, led by Prof. J R Behr and Dean M O Ross, received diplomas as Rev E L Glover gave the invocation. Dean Ross of Earlham College spoke on monetary problems. W L C scholarship went to Howard Henley Jr. Herman Porter gave Behr a class gift money.

Woman's Literary Circle Meeting Highlights Rushville Event
The Woman's Literary Circle met with Mrs. Ella Coffin on Monday. Members discussed County Federation notes from Rushville dated April 23. Mrs. Nell Brown concluded her two year presidency, succeeded by Mrs. Leo Holland. A memorial service honored the W L C and an Advanced Literary Club member. The group reported 607 books and 1,100 magazines read, plus premier scrap-book honors and best selling table for the blind. Carthage will host the 1936 convention.

Death of Mrs. Mattie Worth Moore
Mrs. Mattie Worth Moore died Monday at the home of Mrs. Eva Miller south of Arlington. Born December 12, 1851, she served as a minister and church worker across several towns in Indiana and North Carolina. Funeral services were held at Little Blue River Wesleyan Methodist Church and Newcastle Wesleyan church with interment in Newcastle.
