Celebration Iowa group to perform at Carroll County Fair

The Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band, a 37 member touring company of Iowa high school musicians, will perform at Carroll County Fair on Sunday July 22 at 4 pm. The group, in its 19th year, opens with West Side Story and Chicago tunes, then a Disney Newsies revue and hits from the 60s to the 90s. Members include Matt Schwarzkopf Ryan Van Gilder Jolena McCloud and Cara Stone. Rehearsals were June 9-28 at Luther College and the tour runs June 29 to August 5. Jazz Band is based at Luther College and sponsored by the college. Each member receives local sponsorships to defray expenses.

Pella Foundations pledge aids Carroll depot restoration

The Pella Foundation and Kuyper Foundation will present a $20,000 contribution toward the Carroll railroad depot restoration project this Friday. The combined $100,000 pledge aims to support interior restoration work scheduled to begin this fall, helping advance the depot project through the Carroll Depot Centre.

Prepared Childbirth Education classes at St Anthony

Prepared Childbirth Education classes at St Anthony Regional Hospital run through July 30 with topics on prenatal care, labor and birth, relaxation and breathing, hospital experience, infant care and nutrition. Our New Baby program in July

The Our New Baby program helps younger family members prepare for a new arrival. It runs Fridays at 4 p.m. in the hospital education room, features an introductory film, nursery tour, a chance to hold a doll, and a keepsake photo. Ages 2 to 12 may attend. preregister by calling 792-8243.
