Bank shows at close of business May 30 1911 a condensed statement detailing liabilities including Redemption Fund for Circulation 25,000.00 30,000.00, Bank Building Circulation Dividends Unpaid Bills Payable.
Pursuant to an order by Governor Joseph M Brown a special election is held Friday June 23 1911 to fill the vacancy in the Georgia General Assembly caused by the death of Hon W D Hamrick. Election follows ordinary special election rules and regulations. Signed May 31 1914 by W J Millican Ordinary.
The Free Press announces Jas A Kelly and J J Holloway as candidates to fill the vacancy from the death of Col W D Hamrick. A special election is called for June 23 1911. Support of friends is requested.
S M Hearn announces bid for Representative to fill the vacancy created by the death of W D Hamrick. Hudnut's Flivers Palmer's Blue Cay Cream and Powders are mentioned alongside a Jacksonville style note. JR Holt Drug Co.
A daily ticket giveaway at Hamrick's Carrollton selects winners from purchases. Listed are six winners from June 1 to June 7 with amounts, plus Ed Blaylock winning a season ticket for $19.80. Next Saturday the oldest purchaser of any amount wins a season ticket, provided the purchase is before 5 pm.
Mrs J T Young entertained Friday afternoon at her College Street home in honor of her sister Mrs R E Lee of Fitzgerald Georgia. Coral and green decorations and score cards set the color scheme while punch was served in the hall. Myrtie Burnham and Mary Hogan served refreshments as music by Lena Hogan accompanied games ending with delicious ices for the guests.

Capt Earl J Brown, engineer in charge at Wilmington for four years, is transferred by War Department to Galveston Texas. Capt Horton W Stickle will relieve him and arrive soon to assume duties. Brown’s work includes Inland Waterway from Neuse river to Beaufort harbor and extensive river and harbor improvements across the district.
The Epworth League held a strong start at the Methodist church with lively meetings and engaging programs. Miss Annie Martin led last Sunday, Nell McKown to lead next, while officers John Martin as president and Malcolm Pace as 1st vice president were noted along with other officers and reporters. Nell McKown and Donald Jackson were chosen to represent the League at the Gainesville Convention.
On June 2 1911 the Onward Band held a regular meeting with faith as the theme. Readings and performances by Mrs Smith J H Harris Belva Cole Percy Smith Nellie Harmon Jno Jackson and others filled the program. Officers for the next three months were elected: Jno Jackson president Florence Wilkie vice president Nellie Harmon secretary Hulett Askew treasurer Ruby Robinson organist Ezekiel Baas reporter.
Notice is given that the General Annual Meeting of the stockholders will be held at the company office in Carrollton, Georgia, on Wednesday June 21, 1911 at 2 30 p m to elect a Board of Directors for the ensuing year and transact all lawful business. Stockholders are urged to attend or be represented by proxy. E M Bass Secretary.
The new district engineer, a West Point graduate, serves as assistant engineer of the Atlantic Division and is now located at Gatun in the Canal Zone. Maj Geo P Howell, heading the Galveston district, will move to Charleston S C after Capt Brown relieves him. Howell hails from Goldsboro North Carolina and attended UNC and West Point.
