The Pins and Needles Sewing Club gathered at Mrs. Helen Christensen’s home with Paula Clegg Barbara Hubbard Wendy Christensen and Dianne Rigby in attendance. The group learned about the sewing machine practiced with material squares and will return a hand sewing project next week. Barbara Hubbard prepared a demonstration titled Be Feminine while refreshments were provided by the leader.
The Bonnie Baker Barbecuers held its first meeting with Marty Allen as leader. Mrs. Allen distributed folders and JoAnn started the briquets while Mrs. Allen read the requirements.
The meeting led by Greg Toone at 8 58 p m on Monday May 14 covered judging an animal, outlined record book work at Blake Matthews home, and plans for a trip to Richmond on Friday May 17 with Colleen Mickelson Annette Shuler and Cheryl Archibald. Laurie Long demonstrated strut bak kels Norwegian cookies and everyone sampled them with pop.
The report details a sixe month of activity by Healthy Helpers with nine meetings. Glade Millward guides the group as teacher and chief helper while Lisa Hatch presides and Morris Million records minutes. Members include 17 students with projects on bread and rolls and various health discussions.
A community meeting will take place at Annette Shuler's residence where her mother will demonstrate bread making. Cheryl Archibald reports: locals invited to watch and learn baking techniques.
