Mourning Death of Faithful Dog Gypsy
Dr and Mrs A W Balsley of W Findlay street mourn the death of Gypsy a 17 year old rat terrier. The dog became partially paralyzed ten days prior and a vet administered a hypodermic for a peaceful death. Gypsy served as a watchdog and once drove out an intruder after a nighttime break in.

Fire damages woods on Wentling farm near Carey
Fire damaged a large woods section on the Ervin Wentling farm one mile south of Carey on Sunday afternoon. The Carey fire department extinguished the blaze, believed started Saturday or Sunday by hunters dropping cigarettes. The department also previously responded August 27 to a tractor fire at the Wentling home.
