Wyandot County fair opened Tuesday with one of the best programs in years. Judging in most departments was completed yesterday. Today and Friday feature three harness races daily and many free attractions. Damage from summer winds has been repaired and grounds are more beautiful than ever. Residents are urged to attend and enjoy the fair.

Death of Abraham Eshelman at 78 in Carey Ohio
Abraham Eshelman died at 6:00 am on Friday at his home on E South Street from a cerebral hemorrhage after years of illness, including two strokes. Funeral was Sunday at Memorial Evangelical church conducted by Rev. W R Shisler. interment in Spring Grove cemetery. Survived by wife Amanda Peirce, son Lawrence of Akron, a deceased infant son, brother Harry Eshelman of Detroit, and three granddaughters. He served 50 years as a Carey president, was a carpenter, and belonged to Memorial Evangelical church and Odd Fellows.
