P. T. A. Seeks Members for September Drive

Philathea class meets at Memorial Evangelical Church

The Philathea class of Memorial Evangelical Sunday school met Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Virgil Green. Opening songs included Pass It On and Throw Out the Life Line. Mrs. J. E. Thurston of Marion led the lesson discussion with devotionals by Rev. E. D. Paulin of Princeton Wisconsin. The Carey Girl Scouts camped four days at Island Park Mt Blanchard along with Mrs Paul McArthur. Frank O'Brien, 84, Dies After Stroke in Toledo

Frank O'Brien died Monday night at his Toledo home after a stroke. His body was moved to Crawford for burial in Ritchie cemetery. Survived by three daughters Adah McGowan Ethel Loskamp of Los Angeles and Mrs George Ackers of Toledo and son Bernard O'Brien. Native of New Jersey, long resident of Carey Crawford, and Toledo for 20 years.

Carpenter Michael Ruffing Dies at 71 in Carey Ohio

Michael Joseph Ruffing died Sunday at 8 10 p m at 316 Orange Street following long illness He was born December 29 1861 in Bismark Huron County Ohio to Joseph and Mary Ruffing He married Rose Mary Glassner on April 28 1885 in Bismark She died March 5 1927 They had eight children with one son Victor deceased Surviving are Harry Ruffing Portsmouth Sadie Haubert Gibsonburg Al P Ruffing Carey Jerome Ruffing San Francisco Clarence Vernet Ruffing Carey and Ira Ruffing at home There are four sisters and one brother 23 grandchildren He was a devout Catholic member of Our Lady of Consolation Church and belonged to the Moose lodge The family moved to Carey 40 years ago He later entered the implement business with his son Clarence retiring eight years ago Burial was in St Marys Cemetery with six nephews as pallbearers.
