Father Warren Welsh has been named Dean of Studies and Professor of Education at Our Lady of Carey Seminary College. Denver Donelson was re elected president of the Carey Shuffleboard Club Tuesday at Memorial Park shelter house. Power off at midnight Sunday for line transfer

Electricity will be turned off at midnight Sunday so village electric department workers can move lines to a new steel tower at the substation. Power is expected to be off about two and a quarter hours. People relying on electric alarm clocks should set them ahead Sunday night.

Carey Exempted Village Schools Welcome Eight New Teachers

The Carey Exempted Village Schools introduce eight new teachers for the year. Mrs. Sam Newcomer begins second grade in the West Building and is a Carey resident with two children in district schools. Roger, a 1963 Carey High School graduate, will study at Findlay College next week after attending Findlay College. Miss Nancy Combine, guidance counselor and eighth grade arithmetic teacher, is a Carey High School and Bowling Green State University graduate who has taught at Sylvania Elementary and completed 35 hours of graduate guidance credit. Ralph Roberts, Findlay College graduate, teaches science across grades six eight and high school biology and will serve as wrestling coach and varsity football assistant. Doyce Rice teaches American Government and World History at Carey High School, previously at Elgin High and Findlay College, and has been active in YMCA. he will be varsity football and basketball assistant and head baseball coach.

Village Electric Worker Seriously Injured In Fall

Raymond Platt aged 25 of the village electric department is hospitalized at Blanchard Valley after a 25 foot fall from a light pole tower at Memorial Park football field. He sustained fractures of the pelvis spine and left arm and wrist and elbow. He was lowering bulbs when the fall occurred after his foot struck and loosened a loud speaker. He is reported in traction.

New Carey Plant Opening Next Week

Ralston Purina Company announces operations at its new egg processing plant at 215-219 N. Lake Street in Carey, Ohio, expected to start the week of Sept. 16. Jack Whiteside, the company representative, says about 20 workers will eventually be employed as the plant buys eggs from large producers and processes them for grocery chains. The plant will wash dry candle and grade by weight, then pack eggs in cartons for home use. Alton Purina Co. recently bought the building from Wm. Kreais of Fostoria. A temporary office is in the Dible Building on N. Vance Street with Mrs. Robert Lee in charge.
