Carey's prominent businessman C F Sutter died early Wednesday on a business trip to Chicago. He had left Carey Tuesday evening and telephoned his arrival, later dying of angina pectoris. funeral services set for Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church with multiple pastors assisting. Sutter, 52, was a mortician, furniture dealer, and local civic figure active in several lodges and charities.

Ernest D Fox died at his Clay street home in Carey on Saturday morning about 3:15 due to a long illness. Born May 24, 1875 in Salem township, he was 55. Survived by wife Mary Kinn and 12 children, two brothers and four sisters, plus two grandchildren. Funeral from Our Lady of Consolation with Knights groups church and interment at St Mary's cemetery.

The district activated five new school buses on Monday with Thoburn Baker Route 1 Irvin Black Route 2 Ray Tracy Route 3 Clyde Morehant Route 4 and Cecil Laird Route 5.
