Rev R J Turrell departed Monday at noon for Oxford Ohio for the annual conference session. He is expected to return next Monday.

Death of J F Zimmerman Remembered at Green Springs

J F Zimmerman longtime Green Springs resident and Carey photographer died in Springfield on Aug 27 1930 at age 79. Born June 5 1851 at Green Springs he married Nancy Ann Lytle in 1874 and Martha Ellen Lytle in 1882. Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran church with Knights of Pythias present.

The K of C notices the Aug 31 picnic is postponed to Sunday Sept 7. The program remains the same with the ball game and lectures at Camp Crawford near Crawford Bridge. Everyone is invited to attend.

Blem Family Reunion Held at Clarence Musgrave Home

The first Blem reunion met Sunday in Arlington with 90 attendees. Officers elected include President Perry Bleam Carey and secretary-treasurer Harry Pever Wharton. Next year’s gathering set for the Sunday before Labor Day, venue to be decided.

Peoria Visitors Stay With Miss Ida Myers in Carey

Ida Myers and Prof and Mrs H D Runnells of Peoria Illinois arrived Sunday for a visit with Miss Myers cousin Miss Mattie Myers. James A Myers father of Ida returned home to Ohio to attend the national Grand Army encampment at Cincinnati after a brief stay. Pref Runnells runs the Runnells School of Music in Peoria and his wife is a musician who broadcasts on WMBD. Mr Myers age eighty five enjoys good health and recalls Carey when it had few houses.

Pretty Wedding at St Nicholas Frenchtown

Wednesday morning a wedding united Miss Gladys Kinn daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Kinn with Emil Deckler at St Nicholas church Frenchtown. The bride wore autumn brown crepe and roses while her cousin Miss Lucile Welly served as brides maid in matching brown attire. Best man was Mr Robert Fox. A wedding breakfast followed and the couple planned an eastern trip then several months in Europe to visit the groom's relatives.

Snyder family outings span Sandusky to Russels Point

Mr and Mrs Lester Snyder and family spent Friday at Sandusky and Cedar Point. Mr and Mrs Grover Snyder and Mr and Mrs Linus Myers spent Sunday at Russels Point.

Carey widow Dr Washburn dies after long illness

Mrs Flossa Roper Washburn aged 44 died Sunday at 1 00 am at the home of Miss Margie Sutphen in Carey from a complication of diseases. Born June 1 1886 in Alpine New York she was daughter of P B and Deltha Roper. She had lived in Cleveland and Carey and was active in civic life including founding the Cleveland Woman's Suffrage club. She held degrees from Western Reserve College Baldwin Wallace Harvard and was a lawyer and stationery maker. Funeral was Tuesday at 2 30 pm at Goff funeral home with Rev Paul R Clouser presiding. burial in Spring Grove cemetery. Pallbearers listed.

Last Concert to Be Big One Next Wednesday

On September 10 a 65 piece band including the Bloomdale and Carey organizations will give a free concert here. This will be the last free concert this season.

The Lutheran church announces new service times starting this Sunday September 7 with Sunday school at 9 15 and morning worship at 10 30 The evening service begins October 5 The annual home coming day is set for September 14 with a parish house pot luck dinner after the morning service Holy Communion will be observed September 28 at the end of the month

Lasere Trio to Perform Free Act at County Fair

The Lasere Trio will present a free aerial act in front of the grandstand at Wyyandot county fair on September 17 18 and 19 Harold and Mrs Lasere previously toured Carey and join the group here for a local premiere Harold is a local youth formerly living with his grandmother Mrs Mollie Mr Beth and attended the area schools for four years.

Shoe Store Change Hands in Canton Move

Schira sold his shoe business to Green & Co of Cleveland and moved the store to Canton on Wednesday after 15 years of operation. He will focus on selling insurance, and the vacated room had housed a shoe shop for fifty years or more.

School opens September 8 in Carey with a teachers meeting on September 6 in Room 18 of the high school.
