Adelsperger Fishing Trip to Pacific Coast
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Adelsperger of northeast of Carey returned from a 16 day vacation to the Pacific coast. They flew via Toledo Chicago jet Portland and back by train. They fished two days in the Columbia River for salmon and two days at the jetty mouth for sea bass. The first salmon weighed 23 pounds and the second 34 pounds. They canned 63 cans of salmon for friends and relatives. A Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill tour impressed them with logs debarked and split by water pressure. They visited Mrs. Orpha Corey and Silas Corey at Orchards Washington, and weekend callers included Mr. and Mrs. Nye, Mr. and Mrs. Wiseley, and Mrs. Jeffers and family.

Schwemley Couple Sell Bucyrus Home to Alvada Buyer
Mr and Mrs Charles Schwemley sold their four bedroom residence at 518 West Findlay Street to James Smith of Alvada. The transaction was brokered by C W Lan ning. They will move Saturday to Arch Drive Bucyrus where a new home is under construction and have taken teaching posts in Bucyrus schools. Mrs Schwemley will teach fourth grade at Kilbourne School and Mr Schwemley will teach mathematics at Central High. They begin work today and will commute between Carey and Bucyrus until moving.

Mrs. Mary Hall mother of Carey teacher Charles Hall and widow of James Hall marked her 90th birthday Friday August 26 with about 35 relatives gathering at her daughter Flossie’s Ada home. She recovered from bronchial pneumonia this summer and reflected on farm life in Allen County prior to moving to Ada in 1943.

Sister Survives Lightning Bolt at Bellevue Home
Mrs. Raymond Richardson of Bellevue, sister of Harold Vaughn, was struck by lightning at 5 30 p m Monday while at the kitchen sink. She was paralyzed for six hours with burns to her left arm but reported no lasting injuries. Dale Richardson and Barbara Richardson visited the Vaughns Tuesday evening to relay the incident.
