Douglas Higgins 17, son of Mr and Mrs Lacy Higgins, was knocked unconscious when his 1952 Mercury struck a tree while avoiding a deer near his northwest town home. Neighbor Ralph Musgrave found him and helped summon aid. He was treated for minor injuries at Blanchard Valley Hospital and released the next afternoon. The car was a total wreck.

Across several nights many residents scanned the sky for Echo I the 100 foot balloon projection moving at high speed. In Upper Sandusky Dewey Dillon fell from a roof at 9 24 p m injuring his left arm in a ten foot drop during the search. The Echo I probe orbits roughly every two hours and a hundred minutes reflecting Eisenhower's message from JPL to Bell Labs.

Air tours slated Saturday for Vanlue area farmers

The Carey Conservation and Sportsman’s Recreation Park hosted over 40 volunteers who completed most planned projects.
