Kiwanis Club Elects Delegates for Cincinnati Conference

The Kiwanis Club met at noon at the Galt Restaurant with 16 members present. H C Walker and H B Stief were elected delegates and George Ash and Rev Paul R Clous er alternates for the state Kiwanis convention in Cincinnati October 3 4 5. Mr Wanny Keller spoke on tabox conditions in Garey with results from his survey of 12 large concerns noting 493 men and 93 women employed there and an average to slightly above average business outlook for winter. There will be no meeting next Monday noon due to Labor Day.

New Half Owner at the White Way

Wesley Gregg purchased a half interest of T. B. Warner in the White Way garage and, with Warner, will operate under White Way The Store. The change took effect yesterday morning. The garage and auto sales continue, and the store will wholesale and retail Mason tires in Wyandot, Seneca, and Crawford counties.

Cole Reunion At Carey Park Sets Sunday Dinner Promptly

A Cole family reunion is planned at Carey Park on Sunday September 4 with dinner served at 12 o'clock. O W Cole serves as president and Mrs Addie Young as secretary for the year. A large attendance is anticipated.

A church farewell reception honored members leaving for higher education. The event featured a program, refreshments, and social time. Potato Club visits Egbert potato farm near Tiffin

Kiwanis agricultural committee brought 13 Potato Club members to Mr Egbert s northeast of Tiffin last Friday. They learned how he built a reputation for fine seed potatoes and saw planting and harvesting equipment. They observed corn borers damaging a corn field. The committee included J D Ewing Jacob Stief Ralph Kurtz and J R Rees.

Enjured Doctor Armacost In Auto Accident In Perrysburg

Dr. H. E. Armacost, superintendent of the Delaware district of the M I church, was injured in a Perrysburg auto crash last Friday. He sustained a cut eyeball that may be serious. He is well known locally for visiting the M I church many times.

Reverend Joseph Shellhaas will leave for Delaware Tuesday to attend the annual West Ohio Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The conference will convene for one week at the William Street M E Church.

City council approves bills and salaries in regular session

The regular session led by Mayor Mullholand approved and paid a long list of disbursements including salaries for August for several officials, office expenses, street and road labor, materials for water and sewer work, and paving bids. The Asphalt Block and Pavement Co. of Toledo had its resurfacing bid for Vance Street accepted. The council adjourned to meet in two weeks.

Carey village budget hearing set for September 12 1927

A Letter to the Times from Brashares describes Lindbergh's arrival in Chicago on a calm Saturday. The silver monoplane drew crowds as bells rang and papers fluttered from tall buildings. Lindbergh spoke at Soldier Field praising Chicago as an air hub and the city plans a major airport venture.

A.S. Postle arrives as principal of Carey High School succeeding Miss Edna Easley. He and wife Mrs Postle and daughters Patricia and Elizabeth will reside with the C Walker family. Postle previously served six years as superintendent of Hyatts Ohio schools and is an Ohio Wesleyan University graduate.

Savidge Burson Family Reunion Held at Carey Park

The 19th annual Savidge Burson reunion gathered about 200 members at Carey park last Sunday. Rev J B Shellhaus gave a short talk after readings and music. officers elected include President Mr Savideée of Mt Victory, Vice President Earl Burson, Secretary Mrs Grant Tong, and Treasurer Mrs Alten Baker of Marion. The next reunion will be the fourth Sunday in August at Carey park.

Judging Teams Travel to State Fair

The judging teams from the local department of agriculture left Wednesday for the State fair in Columbus. They will compete in Dairy at 7:00 am and Grain at 1:00 pm on Thursday September 1, General Livestock at 7:00 am Friday September 2, and Poultry at 9:00 am Friday. The boys are accompanied by Mr and Mrs J RR Rees and will camp at the fair.

Longtime Mendon Woman Elizabeth Brown Dies at Home

Mrs Elizabeth Brown died Saturday afternoon at home on Dow street after illness dating to July 1926 when she suffered a stroke. She was 91 years old, survived by four children and many grandchildren, and was laid to rest in Mendon South Park Cemetery after funeral services at the Trubey home conducted by Rev Paul R Clouser.

Miss Selera Fox Weds Clyde Scranton In Nuptial Mass

School On New Schedule With Earlier Start Time

A revised school schedule takes effect next week with earlier start and end times. Morning bells ring at 8 20 for the first session and 8 40 for the second, noon dismissal at 11 45, assembly at 12 45, and afternoon dismissal at 4 00 to reduce winter darkness strain.
