Four judging teams from Carey High School’s agriculture department will compete at the Ohio State Fair. Teams have trained since July and will face rivals from across the state for premiums totaling over 1400 dollars. Members include Glen Hudson, Carl Johnson, Dale Robison, and others with alternates in dairy, grain, and poultry. The fair runs August 31 to September 2 following recent Ashley fair experience.
The 16th Wentz family reunion drew 174 attendees last Sunday in Forest Park. Henry Wentz of Forest displayed a German dated Bible from 1628, kept within the family for six generations. Music by S. O. Dumm and his daughters Mary and Edna accompanied recitations by children as relatives from numerous towns gathered.
The Pierce family reunion occurred at Riverside Park Findlay last Sunday with a bountiful dinner and officers elected Lawrence Sherman of Akron named president J Erle Smith of Tiffin named treasurer and secretary. Attendees included Mr and Mrs George Perkins and daughters Helen Lucille Arline Maxine and Robert Mrs Mary Stroup and Elizabeth and guests Mrs Dwight Hosterman and son Franklin H Tilden Pierce and several Pierce relatives.
The annual Wyandot county teachers institute will meet at Union school building Upper Sandusky from August 29 to September 2. E Falmer will give an address Wednesday morning and Friday features Mrs Ruby Criger who will discuss Five Modern Tendencies in Teaching Geography.
William Keller Dale Krebs Rus sell Wickiser Dean Powell Howard Diller and Jack Heck of Carey High School will perform with the All-Ohio band at the state fair from August 29 to September 3. The group is directed by Mr. Wainwright of Fostoria who led the band here last winter.
Supt. C. E. Palmer returned Saturday from Columbia University in New York City where he completed degree work and received the A M degree after attending summer school.
The annual Kear Reminiscence Party is set for Sunday at Doctor Kear’s home near Forest. A chicken dinner will be served at the Galt Restaurant for 50 cents, with Mrs. William Davidson listed as proprietor.

At the Kiwanis luncheon in the Galt Hotel speakers covered alcohol use, enforcement, and propagandist remarks. The Carey Public Schools outlined pre registration and opening dates with renovations, new textbooks, and a first time typewriting course at the high school.
The Schriber family held its second annual reunion last Sunday at Carey Water Works Park drawing a large crowd from Springfield Illinois Toledo Warren Ottawa Fostoria Shelby Crestline Lima Kansas Upper Sandusky and other nearby regions.
The new slate includes President Virgil Thompson of Fostoria, Vice President Christ Hucke, Secretary Thomas Jenet, and Treasurer Mrs. Frank Frey. The next reunion is set for the second Sunday in August 1928 at the same location.
Crawford township board of trustees to hold a public hearing at 7 p m during the regular session on the Crawford township budget for the year 190?28. The budget is filed at the clerk’s office and available for public inspection. B H HUDSON Clerk
Mr and Mrs H R Babson sold their residence at 233 South Muncie Street to Mr and Mrs Joseph Pethe of near Adrian. The Pethes now reside on their farm and expect to move to the new home next spring.
Carey Council No 1925 will hold its 8th annual Knights of Columbus picnic at Krupp's grave on Sunday August 28. All members urged to attend with friends. Contests games for all. Lunch at 12:00.

Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Carpenter plan to move to Findlay. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Seeman have rented the Carpenter house on Patterson Street.

The Summit family reunion met at the park last Friday with about 65 present. G. W. Summit was elected president, John Peifer vice president, and Miss Anna Summit secretary-treasurer. Next year’s gathering will be at Harrison Smith park in Upper Sandusky. time is undecided.
Carey public school district budget on file with the clerk and a public hearing set for Friday September 2 at 7 30 p m at the high school. A GALBRONER clerk.
The Loyal Workers class of Memorial Evangelical Sunday School invites members to a Friday night event at the park. An officer election will be held and ice cream and cake will be served.
The Goff family reunion at Elm Hills last Sunday drew about 60 members. Clyde Goff served as president and led the program in the afternoon.
The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist church will hold a bake sale at the rest room Saturday August 27 beginning at 10 o'clock.
The Carey Farmers' Community Club will hold its regular meeting at the farmers' cream station next Monday evening.
The Stoh family reunion will be held at Carey Water Works Park next Wednesday August 31, with details forthcoming.
Wyandot County displays led by Charles A Wentz of Kirby with 14 Belgian horses entered as part of what organizers call the world's greatest agricultural exposition. The fair runs August 29 to September 3, 1927, with almost $150,000 in premiums across all exhibit classes. The event promises the largest stock exhibits in the state’s history and draws crowds from across the state to the billion dollar show.
A 100 piece band from across Ohio will perform at the event. A $500 prize for the best babies draws crowds to the baby booth. An aeronautic display and a daily wild west rodeo add western thrills. The exposition is billed as the most complete ever held in Ohio and Wyandot County residents should attend.
About 45 Brashares family members gathered for the annual reunion at the park. Officers were reelected at the business meeting with Hugh Brashares of Wharton as president and Raymond Kear of Wharton as secretary treasurer. Attendees included Ida Green and family from Lansing and many relatives from nearby towns. The next reunion is set for the third Sunday in August 1928 at the park.
An 8 pound son Dwain Edwin born Sunday morning to Mr and Mrs Emory Diller of Sycamore at the home of Mrs Diller s parents Mr and Mrs Forest Schade of Beech Grove. Flo was born on Mrs Diller s birthday anniversary. An 8 pound daughter Shirley Kathleen born Tuesday evening to Mr and Mrs Raymond Jacobs of Detroit at the home of Mrs Jacobs s parents Mr and Mrs Joseph Essex.
Miss Margaret Ann Pepple Miss Eugenia Henry Miss Mildred Campbell Miss Jennie Steen Miss Martha King Miss Dorothy Lockrider Miss Martha Stoody and Howard Diller traveled to Lakeside on Wednesday and performed the playlet The Hiding and Finding of Moses in the Bulrushes at the district Epworth League convention. They returned on Thursday.
A copy error swapped the second place winner in the seventh grade WCTU essay contest. It should be Miss Lucille Kinsinger, not Julia, and Elza Jacobs, a Democratic mayoral candidate, spoke at the WCTU picnic.
A budget hearing for the Crawford Ridge school is scheduled for Saturday September 3 at 7 00 pm in the clerk’s office.
