Profitable Sow Produces Large Litter Record

Willis Tong, four miles southwest of town, owns a 34 year old Poland Red sow famed for large families. The sow has birthed five litters with 9, 10, 11, and 12 pigs in the last four litters with every pig surviving. Her illustrious line traces to a grandmother who raised 85 pigs in seven litters.

Kiwanis Club Dinner Highlights Taxation Amendment Talk

About 50 members attended the Kiwanis dinner where Rev. HEB Cole gave the invocation and Mrs. Goble performed solos. The main program featured Harry Van Horn of Columbus explaining the proposed constitutional taxation amendment to tax intangible property more fairly and to raise state revenue, with support from examples in Kentucky and Maryland.

Carey Ladies Host Booster Club Night and 33rd Anniversary

All members of the W B A of the Maccabees are urged to attend Friday night for a last meeting before the Booster club event on October 16. Carey ladies host a 6 o'clock dinner for Booster clubs from Findlay Fostoria Upper Sandusky Tiffin and McComb with District Deputy Mrs Dora Thompson as guest of honor. At 8 o'clock the business meeting opens and a class of candidates is presented in honor of the association's 33rd anniversary.

Crooked radio bug steals tubes from Hilty home

A thief entered Mrs. Jacob Hilty and her son Thomas’s North street home Saturday evening while they were away. On return, they found no radio response and discovered all the radio tubes missing. other items remained untouched. The crime is thought to involve a radio bug seeking tubes.

Auto Wreck Near King's Corners Injures Children

Mr and Mrs George Perkins and their daughters Arlene five and Maxine three were northbound when a Ford coupe stopped to block their Ford sedan at a crossroad. A Peerless coach from Ft Wayne struck the Ford, causing the sedan to overturn and injuring the two children with facial cuts. The Perkinses were later driven home by another car, while the Ft Wayne driver and wife visited after being brought by taxi from Findlay.
