Rally Day Plans at Lutheran Church Observed

Harding High School Opens for Lakewood Residents

L. E. Straw of Harding high school's general science department spent the weekend with his family in Lakewood. The new Harding high school building will be open Friday October 16 at 7 30 p m for Lakewood and Cleveland residents to tour and meet the teachers. Dr. Sawyer of Marion will speak on the life of the late President Harding after whom the school is named. The Lakewood Kiwanis Club will attend, run the program, and provide refreshments.

Woman's Christian Temperance Union Meets at Trubey Home

The W C T U held its monthly meeting at Mrs. L D Trubey's home Friday afternoon. Mrs. W Bradley was elected as a delegate to the state convention in Akron in October 2023. The November meeting site will be decided later.

Crawford OES plans October meeting and home talent play

Crawford chapter OES will hold its regular meeting on Friday October 16. After the business session the lodge will present Al Martins Country Store, a home talent play, followed by refreshments. All members urged to attend.

School Notes On New Fourth Grade Room and Attendance

The East building gained an additional fourth grade room last Wednesday with Miss Carrie Kamps in charge, creating a combined third and fourth grade for a more efficient system. First and second grades gain full-day coverage, with earlier dismissal times. Physical education thrives under Miss Easley, Dowdell, and assistants, while Prof J B. Moore leads a band and Glee Clubs for upcoming entertainment. Attendance averaged 98 percent in the first month, with 14 absences. officials urge parental and civic cooperation to keep children in school.

Wyandot Sunday School Convention Held in Two Churches

The 52nd annual Wyandot county council of religious education convention will take place at Sycamore on Thursday and Friday October 22 and 23. The children's division institute meets Thursday at the Reformed church with evening sessions in the Methodist church. Friday sessions follow. Rev A G Tozer leads the educational conference as divisional superintendent Thursday afternoon. Howard Snyder presides Friday evening.

Funeral services for Dr J N Zeis held at Methodist church

Funeral services for Dr. J N Zeis were conducted Friday at 2 pm at the Methodist Episcopal church with Rev W F Martin officiating. The service included a Scottish Rite tribute and interment in Spring Grove cemetery. A large group attended, including many Zeis family members and friends from across Ohio.

On Tuesday at 8:00 am in St Joseph's church Salem township Miss Hilda Henige married Mr Frank Schira. Rev Father Lawrence presided with a single ring nuptial Mass. The bride wore a fur trimmed rose tan gown and cocoa brown satin for her attendant Miss Florence Schira. A breakfast for immediate families followed at the bride's home.

Auto strikes cyclist. man dragged 60 feet in Findlay area

Clarence Elchert of Lake Street riding to work on a bicycle was struck by a Ford driven by Fred Schroeder of Findlay. Rain on the windshield reduced visibility. Elchert was dragged 60 feet and pinned under the car, with severe knee injuries. He will remain at home for weeks.
