The Carey Athletic Association schedules a football banquet for December 14 at 6 30 p m in the basement of Christ Lutheran Church. Ohio State coach Wes Fesler will give the main address. Football letters will be awarded by Coach Atkins. Tickets cost 150 for food plus 25 cents to cover the speaker fee. Tickets go on sale at the high school with Kiwanis Lions and Jay Dees assisting in sales and attendance.
A Sadie Hawkins event on Tuesday November 21 featured Daisy Mae Daisy Mae Luynn McDaniel and L'il Abner Dick Taylor marrying before about 100 attendees. L'il Abner Pieracini wore a prize vegetable corsage made by Daisy Mae Mott. Refreshments followed games and the Y Teens sponsor Miss Lucia Grieser.
Hartman works out broadcasting details for several home basketball games. Mel Murray of WEOB IMM offered service to the school. Clingaman of the local telephone company arranged a clear line for the broadcast. Hartman will announce games and details as plans firm up.
Ca rey's 1950 basketball squad opened practice with intersquad games. Captains Jim Hall John Wedge David Yingling and Paul England drafted teams. Wedge's squad won 41 40 led by Lyle Orians 24 points and Orians 19 in the final. Wedge's team led 23 15 before Orians Schwemley sparked a 45 432 victory.
At the Y Teen meeting held November 20 Marianne LaRoche was elected songleader. Final arrangements were made for the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance and plans discussed to go Christmas caroling with the Hill and F H A. After devotions led by June Hill and Barbara Elbert, the meeting was turned over to Margaret OFlaherty Marilyn Lessig and Boya Delle Beagle.
Careful notes show a weekend blizzard that dumped snow and halted motor traffic. Carey schools closed Monday and resumed Tuesday as crews cleared streets with loaders and trucks, dumping snow on Lakeland grounds and along the old Findlay Branch. Charles Laurie increased gas pressure after a Saturday substation adjustment, and Greyhound bus service was halted through Carey.
The Methodist Church starts its third year of pre Christmas and pre Haster observances with Thursday programs at 7:30 PM. December 7 features Rev. Donald W. Cryer as guest speaker, December 14 presents the motion picture The Guiding Star, and December 21 hosts the church school Christmas party. Covered-dish suppers on the 7th and 14th begin at 6.30 PM.
The county council home demonstration program schedules a county wide Christmas meeting on Tuesday December 5 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm in the courthouse assembly room Upper Sandusky. Homemakers and families are invited to attend as projects such as Christmas craft textile painting wrapping and decorations are showcased.
Local Woman's Benefit association chapter No 27 calls a Friday gathering at the home of Mrs Myrtle Perkins. After the meeting a potluck supper will follow and all members are urged to attend for important business.
Mr and Mrs Robert Heck and children Susan and Jimmy moved last week from the Ziebarth apartment 304 W Findlay Street to their newly constructed five room frame house on St Marys Avenue.
The JayCees announce a community wide Christmas lighting contest for homes, apartments and business places with cash and merchandise prizes. Application blanks will appear in next week's Carey Times.
Congregation members showcase a new feature at Carey theatre titled For Good or Evil. The on location production follows a banker and a doctor through financial moral trials. Cast includes Michael Whalen and Gay Wallace with townspeople in Arendstville Pennsylvania.
The Wyandot County Hog Improvement Association will hold its annual banquet at 6 45 p m Thursday December 7 in the Catholic hall. Guest speaker is Rhea McCain Bowling Green State University English professor. A square dance follows the dinner served by the Christian Mothers society. Tickets from directors Raymond Harter Walter Klein Karl Mosafros Jack Clark Robert Smott or at the extension service in Upper Sandusky. Public invited.
A record party sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary will be held Thursday November 30 at 8 pm in the Legion hall. Tickets are 25 cents each. Chicken sandwiches and soft drinks will be on sale. The public is invited.
B P O Elks Fremont lodge invites Upper Sandusky members to a visitation night on Wednesday December 6. A bus will depart from the Upper Sandusky Elks club at 6 30 p m for the event.

Contributions and pledges total $2,472 as of noon Tuesday, leaving $628 to reach the $3,100 objective for the Carey Community Chest fund. The appeal continues to seek support from local residents and organizations.
The J. T. club will meet this Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robert Mott, northeast of Carey.
The T. R. C. club will hold an afternoon meeting at the residence of Mrs. J. A. Vaughn east of Carey.
A five generation portrait shows Mrs. William Donelson, 76, with her daughter Mrs. avid Luxon, and Mrs. Monroe Dotson with her son William A. Dotson holding Toni, 27 months old. Toni and her mother formerly Shirley Snobanger stay with J. H. Snobarger as Dotson prepares for navy duty in Guam.
Bob Donelson and Jack Decker star for Ohio Northern as the Polar Bears rack up 233 points in the season and allow 91. Decker gains 887 yards on 184 runs with 11 touchdowns and 5 passes. Donelson adds 4 touchdowns and 29 extra points as team claims the conference crown.
The Reverend Basil Helser will lead the annual Third Order day of recollection on Sunday December 3. Members attend 8:00 am mass and Holy Communion, with conferences at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm plus stations at 11:30 am and benediction at 2:30 pm. Parishioners are invited to join for spiritual benefits.

The Pythian Sisters district class Memorial E A B Sunday School will meet Tuesday December 5 at 7 30 p m in the home of Mrs Charley Cross S Vance Street with Mrs Warren Luzader assisting.
Plans for a gala at the Catholic hall describe a feather party on December 6 beginning at 8 30 p m. Attendees may win a certificate redeemable at a local market for turkey ham two ducks or a chicken plus door and other prizes including blankets valued at 10 00. A kiddie fish pond and refreshments will be provided.
A. G. Wisner and son L. G. Wisner with Blond Amos left for Endeavor Pa for a deer hunt but were stranded in Wadsworth by heavy snow. Others from nearby areas also traveled to Endeavor and returned after being snowbound for days.
The Pythian Sisters district convention planned for Wednesday in Bucyrus was postponed due to bad weather. Arrangements will be made to hold it later.

W R Hudson of 1595 W Brown avenue sustained severe injuries in a Thanksgiving morning head on collision 9/10 mile south of Carey on Route 23. He was moved from Wyandot Memorial to Findlay hospital for a fractured kneecap facial injuries and rib damage as companions from Upper Sandusky and Toledo were treated for cuts and bruises.

The Neuhauser Hatcheries Inc will sponsor an evening of entertainment on Tuesday December 12 in the Catholic hall. Three films will be shown first Hy Line poultry farm in operation then a comedy and finally Hy Line farms today. One hundred Hy Line chicks will be door prizes and refreshments will be served.
