Carey High School News Highlights Friday Dismissal and Dance

The Carey High School student body cheered during a 2 30 dismissal and attended the annual Sadie Hawkins dance Friday night sponsored by the Girl Reserves. The 7th grade mixed chorus opened the devotional program with a hymn as Mr. Driver led Scripture and communal prayer. The school radio program aired last Wednesday with Martha Wenner as master of ceremonies.

Blood Donor Dates Set for December 11 and 12

The blood donor unit will be in Upper Sandusky Monday and Tuesday December 11 and 12 to meet Carey county quota of 109 donors. Active donors are urged to contact Mrs. T. E. Promgold or Mrs. Ruby Criger to join the reserve list.

Ohio 1943 motor vehicle fees allocated to Wyandot counties

Final distribution of 1943 motor vehicle registration fees will be paid to Wyandot county cities and townships for road maintenance. Totals include Carey 156.25 Harpster 18.75 Kirby 11.75 Marseilles 3.75 Nevada 67 Sycamore 66 Upper Sandusky 253.26 Wharton 51 and county funds 45.26 and 2,036.04. Overall state share reaches 19,791,595 for 1943 with 77 percent going to counties and cities and 23 percent kept for state highway upkeep.

County Commissioner Guy C Greer Injured in Highway Incident

County Commissioner Guy C Greer was hurt Monday morning when a truck forced his car off Route 25 north of the county home. The car overturned into a ditch. he sustained a scalp cut and was shaken. Orville Corbin drove him to Upper Sandusky for treatment. he rested at home northeast of Carey Tuesday.

New York Central Tests Difsey Locomotive on Toledo Division

Tests of a New York Central owned diesel freight locomotive on the Toledo and Cincinnati division included a run carrying freight from Toledo to Bellefontaine. The unit, part of 72 on NY Central Lines, uses four 16 cylinder 2 cycle motors, weighs 450 tons, and is housed in 103 foot long steel coaches built by General Motors. participan ts included NY Central personnel from La Grange and New York City along with road foremen and local crew.

Carey citizens hold mass meeting on Memorial Park plan

A masrc meeting at Carey high school heard a park committee report and talks on similar parks. About 200 adults and 50 children attended with speakers Judge Russell H.
