Lutheran Church Notes Ahead of Thanksgiving Sermons

The church plans a Thanksgiving sermon on expression of appreciation next Sunday at Wanlue church. A 9 o'clock early service precedes a Lutheran League meeting at 6 30. No evening service due to a union prohibition service at Evangelical church.

Young Clinger Dies After Appendicitis Operation

Charles Clarence Clinger aged six and a half died at the Home and Hospital at 3 this morning after an appendicitis operation. Parents Donald and Margaret Clinger of 116 Jefferson avenue. Ill for a few days, condition acute last night, operated at about 8. Body to Coldren and Coleman funeral parlors, to be taken to the late home this evening. Services Thursday at 2 from the home, Rev Arnold officiating, burial Spring Grove cemetery Carey Ohio.

Tax Payers to Meet in Carey on Friday Evening

All interested taxpayers of Crawford and Ridge townships are urged to attend a meeting at the Rest Room in Carey Friday evening November 20. The gathering will discuss the reappraisal of real estate under the MacDonald Act with the County Auditor explaining the act and soliciting recommendations for appraisers.

The Times will print Wednesday morning for Thanksgiving week. Copy and correspondence should reach the office Monday if possible and no later than Tuesday noon. Advertising copy is not accepted after Tuesday midnight.

The union Thanksgiving services will be held Wednesday evening Nov 25 at the Methodist church. Rev I E Cole, the pastor, will deliver the sermon and special music will be furnished by the ladies octette.

Catholic Bazaar At Our Lady Of Consolation Nov 23 24

Our Lady of Consolation parish will hold its annual bazaar on November 23 and 24 with a chicken supper each evening and a large sale of articles. Everyone is welcome. Also note Carey's Red Cross drive is underway this week.

Death of Mrs C O Young at McKittrick Hospital

Mrs C O Young of 307 East North Street died Sunday at McKittrick Hospital after an appendicitis operation and gall duct obstruction. Funeral services were held Wednesday at United Brethren Church, with burial in Spring Grove. Surviving are two husbands, two steps, several siblings, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Home Missionary Society meeting followed in the afternoon.

Gasoline Car Replaces Passenger Trains on Big Four Route

Starting today a gasoline car will run on the Springfield Sandusky division of the Big Four replacing passenger trains No 119 and No 126. It will travel south through Carey at 9 05 a m and north at 7 05 p m.

Widow Minnie Neidig killed in Findlay street auto crash

Last Thursday at about 7 15 p m Mrs Minnie Neidig was fatally injured when she stepped from the curb in front of Brayton s drug store and was struck by an auto driven by Frederick Kohmann. She died shortly after at the door of Mitchell plumbing shop. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Evangelical church with burial in Spring Grove cemetery. She leaves two daughters Mrs Willis Schmuck and Mrs Robert Miller.
