Worker loses left hand after fuse explodes at Findlay plant
Joseph Looman of North Vancrestreet, employed by National Lima and Stone Co., was seriously injured when a fuse failed to ignite. Returning with a hot iron, the fuse exploded, severing his left hand above the wrist and filling both eyes with sand. Dr Bamne and Van Buren amputated the hand and Looman was taken to Findlay hospital where doctors hope his sight will be saved.
