A report notes $125 000 seminary to be built by the Franciscans Minor Conventual. An auto crash Friday evening on Route 23 near Carey involved Frank Derr of Kirby and Ralph Spence of Logan. Derr, charged with driving while intoxicated, pleaded guilty and was fined $100 and given a six month license suspension.

Work started this week in Carey on a new seminary joining the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation complex. The Frs Minor Conventual selected Carey for the facility to train future priests, housing about 40 students in a three story brick building facing West Street. General contract goes to Snyder Lumber Co with J F Dible handling plumbing and heating. construction to take 10 to 12 months at an estimated cost of $125 000.

At the Earl Greenpost American Legion auxiliary meeting plans were laid for a bake sale to be held Saturday June 8 at Simonis grocery. Truck Overturns on Route 15 Near Carey
A Ward Transportation Co. truck and semi trailer driven by Mr La Bounty of Mansfield overturned on Route 15 about six miles west of Carey at 9:30 last night. He escaped by breaking the door glass after the truck slid over in heavy rain. The vehicle, carrying six tons of general merchandise covered only with canvas, sustained rain damage but no major damage to the truck or trailer.
