Retiring American Legion commander Harry Rook announced completion of plans for the Memorial Day parade on Saturday May 30 at 9 30 a m The Carey High School Band will lead the procession forming at 9 a m at Patterson and E Findlay Streets Veterans groups Boy and Girl Scouts and others may join The Earl Green Post bus offers rides for veterans who wish to participate The parade goes west on Findlay to N Vance then along U S 23 to Spring Grove Cemetery where Rev George E Cressman will deliver the memorial address The assembly will move to Marys Cemetery for rites by Father Warren Welsh The Legionnaires decorated local area cemeteries graves last Sunday They urge notifying the post if any veteran marker was missed so it can be added before Saturday

Carey High School held an Award Day ceremony on May 20 recognizing students for excellence in academics and activities.
